Private Servers

Plenty of them, few actually get anywhere.

I don't want to and i don't plan to play them. But when I see people advertising them with starting items of Oron, Scav and other top end items it makes me think...

I will NEVER play them.

To me, the game isn't just about leveling up, it is about getting rich and getting your own items. Giving items away takes out a whole aspect of the game, one of the few aspects in the game.

So the point of this post, people think giving free items will gain them members, maybe they are right initially, but in the end people will just find the game even more boring than it actually is.

It makes me think

Almost everyone I see on EO is using one hack or the other, some i understand (ghost) but others just don't make the game fair.  However even with that said, if this is just a server to be tested on before being wiped, then all of a sudden it becomes fair that people are using these hacks, does it not?

I don't think it's fair or right for some to use them, when others refuse to use them, but I guess at the end of the day, everyone can make their own choices.

And if the fixs are not made to the game then it is a certainty that these hacks will not only be used but also will become more and more accepted in the community. Right or wrong, what can we do?

Down again?

Update - ok server seems to be right back up again now, must have been a minor glitch. Possibly a reboot as i can see in global people were complaining of lag before hand, who knows.

Just home and notice the current online is very low (and dropping), but also that I cannot log on.

So I am taking a guess that the server has crashed again, can always hope it is vult wiping it so that he can release the game officially but who knows!

Any info please comment.

Gonna be interesting

I see the server is really gaining in it's members now that the official EO website shows the server status and other figures. Over 150 at a peak tonight and with the server only back up after crashing for a few days, that is a real gain from the consistent 100 before the crash.

It made me thing...

What's gonna happen if Vult actually does show up and we get that wipe thats been talked about?
Surely there will be too much of a backlash now, with the stats showing, people are believing that it is the new 'main'? And with no mention on the website of any other wipe, there is no true warning for those checking purely through endless-online.com.
Or will we just be left again? With a community of cheaters that will not be punished.

Just a few things there to think about, defiantly hope changes are coming.

Prices

So, I'm the kind of person who tries to get everything for myself in EO, been at the Bone Spider spawn alone for a long time now and still no item drop. It's getting to the stage where I want to just buy a DE, but how do i know i true price until i see people selling AND buying the item in global, where they state their price.

I just don't know the price.

So I just keep killing this big spider over and over. And for this reason, I would love to see item prices somewhere. Not sure how it could be done, I know prices can change a lot but am pretty sure most are staying around the same level at least at the moment.

Maybe some sort of broker system could work? Where people can put an item up for sale, at a price and someone else can buy it for that price, as well as being able to compare it to other prices?

I know this won't happen and isn't really something for EO at this time, but it's the kind of thing that stops scams (adds in that middle man) and allows people to buy and sell 24/7.

For now I would definitely say EO lacks the members and some rich person would just buy all of one item themselves and then try and sell them at an extreme price, so it doesn't work, but maybe, just maybe, if the game gets some updates, this could work in the future.

Back to killing the spider I go :D

Server back online

Port 8079 should be working again.

The server works with both game.endless-online.com and test.endless-online.com as server host/ip, but after checking, they lead to the same server.

As well as this, the official EO website was showing server status as online, as well as other figures, however google chrome is not currently showing me these stats but other web browsers are.

Server Down

So, seems it may be down a few more days yet from what I've heard to date.

Going to spend some of my time adding more pages to the blog, with more useful guides and such, hope it can be useful to someone. If not then it's useful to me anyway!

Will post any news about the server if I get any.

Update 3 - Well after a nights sleep, it seems the server is still down, some information on whats going on at Wickedfrosts' site in relation to EO as a whole. Could be related.
Update 2 - Thank you Azareil for possible events - "The server does seem to be down, people are saying it might be DDOSING. Or the mysterious admins, whoever they might be could be updating or changing the game."
Update 1 - Reading one person saying the same on the EO page on facebook but that is all I can find to date.

Not sure if it is or not, but can't connect to the server at the moment, could be because of me messing around with some things last night, but defiantly worked earlier for me. So gonna see if I can get any more details and will update here if I do.

Seriously?

Just on EO, decided to follow global chat for a bit, and something came up that interested me.

A link to a 'new' Endless Online blog being promoted for new players. Decided to be a bit nosy and check it out.

Initial opinion, it's alright, be good once more content is added. But then, when I look at the links I immediately see 'EO Trainer' and on this page directly is the download for this software.

Don't get me wrong, I know people do it, and I know it isn't being stopped, but seriously, promoting it to new players of all people.

To me a game should be played fairly, and for the fun of it. And to me, cheating in any way is just taking the fun right out of it, not only for those who don't cheat, but for the player them self.

Well anyway, I'm sure this guys new blog will get more views than mine due to his promotion, and probably more people will download the trainer than take notice of this post. But I really do hope, that soon Vult could do us a favour, and get some guardians and light guides going to help clean up the community.
